My Tools

Description

Since i've been getting quite a few questions about what brushes I use, i figured I'd take a picture of tools i most commonly use.

A) Sticky Post it's: I use for some masking and protecting faces.

B) Raphael Kolinsky: I use a #1 and #3 [link]

C) Winsor & Newton Series 7 Miniature Brush #3: I love this brush. I just might use this one more than any other brush. Notice how short the actual bristles are. Because the hair is short the brush bounces back into shape and the point is always crisp. [link]

D) Griffin Nib holder with Deleter Maru nib: the only nib i use when i sue a nib these days. WAY batter quality than the standard Hunts 102. It does take some getting use to but I've never had a problem getting use to them. [link]

E) Tooth brushes for spatters

F) Correction pen, I rarely us it.

G) Copic Wide marker 110 black.

H) Faber-Castell PITT ARTIST pens, i love these because they are filled with india ink. The big one you see is a brush pen.

I) The plastic cover to a CD bundle i use as a big water bucket

J) Fine spray bottle: i use this to refresh my ink when it starts to get to thick, also for my painting with watercolor.

K) This is a brush pen, I use my own ink to fill it with (L, boiler maker). [link]

M) Sock Eraser for page clean up.

N) Needed eraser

O) DR. PH. Martins BLACK STAR "matte" waterproof india ink. The only ink I prefer to use.

P) DR. PH. Martins BLACK STAR "Hicarb"

Q) DR. PH. Martins Liquid frisket

R) DR. PH. Martins PEN-WHITE

The last photo to the right is a watercolor tray you can usually get at a craft store.

These are the tools i've come to prefer after 11 years of inking. I hope this helps with some of your question.
